Beaches

Arrifana is located in a national park which stretches along the SW Coast of Portugal. This area remains un-spoilt from over development and therefore Praia de Arrifana and the surrounding beaches have retained their pristine condition. Located 10 mins north of Arrifana is the beautiful sandy beach of Praia de Monte Clerigo.  Local amenities include a few very good bars and restaurants. South of Arrifana is the small town of Carrapateira, from here you can wind down a dusty track to Praia de Bordeira and Praia do Amodo.  Both of these beaches are beautiful and you should definitely take the time to explore them.  Most of the amenities are based in the town but there are a couple of small restaurants on the beach.

Cultural

Arrifana is located within the council of Aljezur where man has been since  pre-historic times. There are many remains of settlements which can been seen at the Municipal Museum. Probably the most striking historical symbol of mans presence in the area is Aljezur Castle which was built in the 10th century by the Arabs.  There are many treasures like the castle waiting to be explored in the area including archeological sites; the windmill of Cerro da Igreja and the church of Igreja Matriz de Nossa Senhora d’Alva.

Boavista Golf Course
Boavista offers two distinct sections of play providing a variety of attractive and interesting holes. From the first to the last putt on the 18th green it promises a sensible game for the average player. Umbrella pines, blossoming almond, fig, palm and olive trees line the rolling fairways, weaving their way between water hazards and carefully placed bunkers. Breathtaking views, spectacular scenery and the clear Atlantic Ocean, which is visible from most holes, all combine to make this course a delight for the golfer. Parque Da Floresta
The most westerly of the Algarve courses, Parque da Floresta has been carved out of the hills, creating a real roller coaster that takes you across chasms, lakes and creeks. This tricky course offers real variety, with no two holes remotely alike. One round isn't really enough to fully appreciate the imaginative design and magnificent views.
