The Rude Lodge is in a great location, just round the corner from the bars, shops and restaurants of Morzine town centre. With the Super Morzine gondola just a short walk away, the Rude Lodge is well situated for easy mountain access. Rude Chalets took the property over in 2014 with the aim of offering an excellent option for cheap accommodation in Morzine.
The Lodge was previously known by the town’s residents and regulars as Le Laurys, named after its owner. Madame Laury was a dancer for The Moulin Rouge, Paris and a fascinating character. She ran the property for 35 years. Stories of her fabled parties are a topic of conversation to this day! When the hotel became available, we snapped up this piece of Morzine history and set to work bringing it up to date.
We stripped back years of flocked wallpaper and coloured carpets. We added natural materials that are more reflective of Morzine’s mountain setting, and carefully restored the exposed beams. The first and second floor accommodation sleeps up to 37 guests across a range of room sizes. The Lodge provides the option of affordable dorm rooms alongside traditional twin rooms. The rooms are light and well-appointed and all have modern en-suite shower rooms. With room prices starting from only £35 per person per night, the Rude Lodge is a vibrant and stylish choice of cheap accommodation in Morzine.
The ground floor of the building houses our great value Rude Cafe, which offers healthy and delicious breakfasts and ‘street-food’ style snacks and light meals. The bar serves a great range of wines, craft beers and unique cocktails. The beautiful, natural stone fireplace cleverly divides the cafe and bar from the relaxing lounge area. At the back of the bar is an outdoor terrace for aprés or all day drinks. The terrace enjoys a fabulous view over La Dranse, the town’s river.
Best of all, underneath the Rude Lodge is the famous and legendary ‘Le Paradis’ nightclub. This is where generations of Morzine locals and visitors have enjoyed some particularly wild and wonderful nights!

Rude Lodge prices are B&B per person / per night and include en-suite accommodation and a light, continental breakfast with unlimited tea or coffee.
Anytime arrival – We will store your bags whilst you get more time on the mountain, although access to rooms is not available until 16.00.
